The young explorers of 1st Egglescliffe Scout Group enjoyed their Air Trail adventure today. They were up bright and early for the first session and can now say that they have conquered the UK's biggest, well done guys!
Some of the Air Trail crew had the amazing opportunity to meet some of the Middlesbrough Football Club players following their recent promotion to the Premier League. George Friend works closely with the MFC Foundation and helps with community initiatives, he also gave Air Trail the thumbs up. Cheers, George!
We finally got the chance to use the new Air Trail gazebo when summer showers arrived this weekend. It's going to be great using this at promotion events now the summer is finally here.
The weather today is the best we've seen all year AND it's bank holiday weekend, so there's really no need to be stressed but if you are these new promo stress balls for Air Trail and GoClimb will sort you out.
With the US Masters Golf Tournament right around the corner it's the perfect time to take a look back at this handcrafted trophy for a golf tournament with some friends. The trophy pictured was part of a bigger series of trophies all made from driftwood and offcuts of wood. Click the image to take a look at a few more from the collection.
My brother is a C# developer and is working on a new WPF app so I've been playing around with some ideas to include. This is a quick design in Adobe Illustrator of a speaker and LED light. I discovered the use of the twist tool which gives a really nice effect on the speaker, I'll be using that again.
Air Trail Tees Barrage made the cover of the Stockton-on-Tees News publication this week and will go out to every resident in the borough. It also includes a really cool double page spread. I Can't wait to have a trip down over the summer to see it in action when the weather picks up a little bit. I explored it quickly on the media launch day but really need to go back and push myself a little bit more, that 4th level is HIGH! You can read this edition and older edition of Stockton news here.
These badges were designed for a stag party in Dublin and took inspiration from the style of a vintage beer mat. They included a rather fitting quote from Jocobean playwright John Fletcher - "Best, while you have it, use your breath; There is no drinking after death." Check out the design pagehere.
I'm excited to be travelling back to Bruges in a couple of weeks...I started a bicycle tour of Europe here way back in 2011. At the time I had no idea what I was doing so it will be nice to get a proper look around. Bring on the beer!
Beautiful day down at Air Trail, lets hope the weather holds out when the press arrive for the media launch!
A number of advertising boards were installed at Air Trail today by GT Graphics to cross promote a number of Tees Active's other leisure products. With families being the key audience they will do a great job highlighting other days out in the area.
New animated web gif is ready to go live on the Raring2go! website once GoClimb opens. My animation skills are very lmited but this is something I'd like to look into and explore a lot more in the future.
The walls are all finished now and the painters are working up this huge GoClimb logo. Its going to look awesome when it's finished! Not long until opening day...
A fantastic night at the Northern Echo Local Hero awards 2015 this year. Some amazing people involved in all aspects of sport, from grassroots right up to professional level, all here to celebrate everything that is great about sport in our region. Air Trail was also a category sponsor for the Team of the Year (adult) and Remarkable Achievement (junior) awards! Take a look at all the categories and winners at The Northern Echo website.
Some flyers I designed for a live music night at Billingham Forum - Rock the Rink. Headlined by Collectors Club and support from The Panoramic, these two bands are creating waves on the local music scene. A lot of effort went into getting the look and feel right but the night itself turned out to be a bit of a flop. We knew it was a risk when we decided to give it a go and had lots of fun in the process, but some how I don't see it happening again...
I found this Envato Tuts+ tutorial for a glowing neon sign a while back. It uses the appearance palette to save time and create a stunning vector without drawing complex paths. I adapted this design to tie in with an Ice Skating idea I was working on, the background is an image of the indoor ice arena at Billingham Forum edited to give the effect of an open air stadium. The whole thing has a very american vibe which I love. These guys have some awesome and easy to follow tutorials and for anyone wanting to get the hang of Adobe Illustrator, this is a great place to start. This tutorial was part of a series highlighting the best tutorials of 2010. Check it out.
Check out the programme from the Newcastle United vs Sunderland football match at St. James' Park. Rusty designed an advert for white water rafting at Tees Barrage and even got involved in the photoshoot. Dare you tackle the Tees? Some great marketing right there!
